Puppy Wearing

It's been almost three weeks since our last post. We keep forgetting to take pictures, but over the past little while, we got better at documenting Karina's cuteness. Since the last post, she has gotten 2 more molars, completing her first set of them. That brings her grand total to 12 teeth :-) She is just missing her vampire teeth, and then one more set of molars. Nate and I are just glad that she won't be in pain anymore, as these teeth have caused a ton of crankiness. Karina also turned 15 months yesterday :-)

At the Fourth of July event we went to on Ft Meade, there was a booth to get your picture taken to be on a fake front cover of the military base's local magazine. Here is how our cover shoot turned out:


Nate was in charge of snack time at work that same week, and I made a fancy patriotic cake of the US flag. I was particular about getting the right number and positioning of stars and stripes, and was pretty proud of how it looked. It tasted good too.


Snoopy's nail is healing nicely where it ripped out a while back, and it has started to regrow. Here he is being a good boy, as usual, despite Nate's costume:


Karina loves to play peek-a-boo. It is a sure way to bring a smile to her face.


In this next picture, she is playing peek-a-boo by ducking down behind the couch and then suddenly popping her head up. She thinks that is fun too:-) Though once I pull the camera out, her smiles get much smaller. Apparently it is more fun to smile at Mommy than it is to smile at a camera.


She is also fascinated by the Ergo carrier that we use everyday on Snoopy's walks to carry Karina in. She has become somewhat obsessed with wearing her puppy in the Ergo, just like Mommy and Daddy carry her. She sits for minutes trying to wrap it correctly around herself and buckle it. She wants to do everything that Nate and I do and pays close attention to things we would never have thought she would notice.

Next is her Sunday dress. I managed to trick her into smiling for the camera by hiding in the kitchen, while she was in the living room, and shouting "Where's Mommy?" That is one of her favorite games and she came running to find Mommy hiding behind the kitchen island with a camera at the ready.


"Tag you're it".

Last week we installed a new hard disk in my old Mac Book Pro. The laptop is 5 years old, but the motherboard was replaced 2 years ago, so we decided it would be worthwhile to do the upgrade, especially since the laptop was very expensive new. We were surprised how easy Apple made it to install a new hard drive. We opened the laptop and put in the new hard drive, put in the DVD with the operating system, and plugged in our external hard drive with Time Machine (Apple backup software) to transfer our data and programs over. Besides that, we mostly just clicked 'ok' a bunch of times and waited for everything to install and transfer. Definitely pain-free and we were impressed with Apple. Now we have the added bonus of a computer that runs much faster than it used to because there is actually available space of the hard drive. Yay! I also find it comical to think about the crazy amount the Apple Store was going to charge us to do the upgrade with a smaller and slower hard drive. Their prices are pretty ridiculous.
