Grandma and Grandpa Visit - Part 2

The rest of Grandma and Grandpa's visit was spent with various trips and activities. We took a trip to the swimming pool so the girls could practice their swimming after their lessons earlier this year. Honestly, I think Derek was more fearless than either of them, but we all had fun anyway.

We took advantage of extra hands to babysit to do a few projects around the house. Tanja powerwashed the deck to make it look clean and nice for Karina's birthday party that we held at our house. Of course, after the powerwashing, the stain on our deck was not looking great, so we wound up staining the deck while Grandma and Grandpa were here to help with the kids. The girls enjoyed running underneath the deck while Tanja was powerwashing.

Derek loved having Grandma and Grandpa here to play with him.

We went to a house of some friends for their annual Easter party. It was fun for the kids to hunt eggs in their yard and play with a bunch of other kids. Even Derek got into the egg hunting spirit.

Lydia found a few.

Karina was a force of nature with her egg hunting prowess. She was really running all over the yard filling her bucket as fast as she could move.

Here's a group shot.

And one with all the kids that went to the party.

We went to a big community party the Saturday before Easter. They had a bunch of bouncy houses, and the girls loved it. They went down this slide over and over again.

We got a picture of the girls with the Easter Bunny (who honestly looked kind of creepy to me).

There was a really long line to get your face painted. Tanja stood in the line for an hour while the girls were doing other activities. I don't know that it was worth staying in line, but the results were pretty cool (at least with Karina).

Lydia smudged hers almost instantly and honestly we had people worried she had a black eye or thinking that we were abusive.

We painted a few Easter eggs at home.

Even Derek got in on the action.

Grandma had a good idea to use some of our jelly beans from the Easter egg hunt and some marshmallows to build structures with toothpicks.

The kids loved jumping on top of Grandpa.

Grandma and Grandpa made a trip to visit some of Grandpa's cousins he hadn't seen in 30+ years that live in Pennsylvania for a couple of days. We went with them halfway to Amish Country and took a buggy ride around the farmland and wandered around one of their shopping districts. Here we are in front of our buggy with the horses.
