For anyone who doesn't know, we have an announcement to make - we are expecting our first child in April! I should see if ept will pay us for advertising or something...
Tanja has made it through the first trimester and we are excited and nervous for our new addition. The nursery furniture is assembled, the doctor visits are ongoing, and Tanja gets weekly emails from a site (babycenter.com) that announce how our baby is developing. Each email states some item from the grocery store that is the same size as our baby at that particular week. So far, we have progressed from a sesame seed through things like lentils, kidney beans, kumquats, limes, and we are now at a shrimp. It's kind of fun to pray for blessings for our shrimp.
We had the first trimester screening last week where they did a sonogram and screened for indicators for things like Down's Syndrome. Fortunately, everything seems normal and we are expecting a healthy baby (who will need to grow much bigger than its current 2.7 inches). So we figured this was the perfect opportunity to announce our big news. We bring you...Baby's first portrait! Sadly, the resolution on the pictures isn't that great - we really could see things much better live. It was fun to watch the little hands and feet wiggle around and the mouth open and close.

The technician was somewhat amusing and kept typing things for the baby to say over the pictures. So far, apparently our baby knows how to say Hi and STOP!

Here's a decent print of the head and one of the hands.
I'm sure this blog will be filled with photos of the kid after April (judging by how many baby and toddler pictures show up on my sister's blogs - we will likely be the same). But we wanted to make sure everyone was introduced to our little baby.
You posted a picture of a stick your wife peed on??? YUCK! I am glad that the pregnancy is officially out in the blog world now and I sure hope you post tons of pictures! All of us who live far away want to see those pictures!!
