Fake Coughing and Other Fun

Not too much excitement going on here, but we have been enjoying life. One of our few recent adventures was going out for dinner on Valentine's Day. Karina didn't cry once at the restaurant :-) and ate chicken tortilla soup like a champ. Nate has the day off tomorrow and my plan is for us to hit a Macy's that is closing in hope of some good deals.

We took out Karina's Christmas dress again and it fits her better now. Here she is showing off her clapping skills:

I think these next two pictures are funny. Karina is Skyping with my parents. If you look carefully you can see both my mom and dad on the screen. Karina has gotten really good at Skyping and knows just what to expect. She gets excited when she hears a voice on the computer calling her and she immediately crawls over with a grin on her face.

Yesterday she was being hilarious because my mother coughed (on Skype) and Karina started coughing too in imitation, and would laugh right after because she knew she was being funny. We did the same thing over and over again all day, with us fake coughing and Karina following with her own fake cough. Everyone was entertained at her new found skill.

She has also begun cruising furniture. It should come as no surprise that the first time she walked the entire length of the couch, it was to get to Snoopy... She is also standing without holding on to anything for longer and longer periods of time. Unfortunately (for photographs) she no longer smiles on command for the camera. It's much harder to get a genuine grin out of her. She still laughs and giggles plenty, but not necessarily when the camera is out. We were glad to get a grin here:

Daddy and Karina playing together:

Did we mention that she now has 5 teeth, with more that look like they will break through soon? She has 3 on top and 2 on bottom. I love her toothy grin. She loves feeding herself at dinnertime and is starting to shun some baby foods.

She is a little bit more vocal now, imitating us, though mostly she just says 'da' with some 'ya's, 'ba's, and 'ra's mixed in. In this next picture you can tell from her expression that she is trying to imitate the sounds I am making. I'm also glad to report that she has started napping a little better. Still room for lots of improvement though!

I wonder who Karina takes after with her eating style...?
