We have finally settled into more of a routine since Lydia isn't quite so tiny and the house is feeling more like a home. Of course this also means that Nate's paternity leave is going to end soon, but we are enjoying it while it lasts. All our furniture is in place, wall art is up, everything is unpacked, lots of yard work and flower planting done, we have made several updates (white-washed the fireplace, installed a new light fixture, added shelving to master closet, etc) and this week I have actually had some time to sit and do nothing for short periods. Today we decided to start the unpleasant job of removing some wall paper border. Given that there is wall paper border in the dining room, kitchen, family room, office, powder room, and both girls' rooms, this will be a never-ending project. The border in the dining room was stubborn and we managed to remove it from one of the four walls during Karina's nap. I am not looking forward to many wall paper scraping hours, but I will be excited when we can paint the walls a color we like better (and when we don't have to look at cherubs floating on clouds in the dining room).
When Lydia was born, Nate and I were a little worried because she didn't seem to cry very loudly. She has since demonstrated that she is quite opinionated about what she wants at any given time:-) Sometimes she just likes hanging out though:
While we have been doing yard work, Snoopy has been his normal well-behaved self, laying down peacefully in the front yard without wandering off anywhere. Our yard looks better now as we have trimmed numerous bushes, weeded multiple times, planted some flowers, not to mention all the work that went into prepping the yard for Snoopy's fence installation and getting branches bundled up for recycling pick-up.

We tried to take some cute pictures of Lydia yesterday, but it is so hard to get a shot of her being alert and not bug-eyed.
