I'm a couple weeks late in writing this blog post, but it took a while to find time to sort through all the pictures. Nate jokes that since I ran out of books to read, I finally have time to make a blog post, file taxes, and make a photo book.
My parents came to visit over Valentine's Day week/weekend, with Mormor staying a few days longer than Mimi. Before Mormor arrived, Karina announced how excited she was for Mormor to be able to tickle her. She enjoys all the the Norwegian songs Mormor has been singing to her for years. A couple of those Norwegian songs she sings to the girls every day are tickle songs/rhymes.
Lydia was excited to have someone willing to read to her over and over and over again without stopping after a couple books. She seemed to always be on Mormor's lap with a book in her hands.
Karina got a new dress from Mormor that she was very happy with. Not only was it long enough (Karina has this weird fixation that dresses have to go to her ankles to be pretty), but it is red (her favorite color) too:-)
When Mimi arrived, Lydia quickly found another person willing to constantly read to her. She was a happy Munchkin.
Someone was happy to see his 'two favorite girls':
Nate and my dad cut down and chopped part of a tree that had broken off 3/4 of the way and was waiting to die/rot off. I hate to lose part of that nice tree, but at least now, maybe my newly planted Magnolia tree will get more light.
We made an attempt to get a picture of the grandparents with the girls and the girls sort of cooperated, though not as long as I wished they would have. The weather was absolutely awful the entire time Mimi and Mormor were here, so no outdoor pictures. This entire winter has been miserable for us. There hasn't been that much snow, but it has just been so cold, day after day, week and week. We've set several low temperature records, including ones dating back to the 1800s.
The weather was bad enough that church was cancelled 3 Sundays in a row. The girls have been getting dressed up in pretty dresses for no reason.
Karina serving letter soup on a cold day in an attempt to keep warm:
Playing in a suitcase before we got the chance to donate it to Goodwill (apparently suitcases are as fun as boxes):
Karina loves to help me bake. Lydia loves to help too, and it is fun until Lydia makes a huge mess, spills stuff, or shoves Karina out of the way too many times. We got to wear our pretty aprons this time:
We played Candy Land one night...
And guess who won?
Here Mormor and the girls are getting a few final pictures before Mormor went to the airport:
Thanks for the visit!
