Fall Pictures

One evening, while the girls and I were playing fairies with their dress-up clothes, we decided that Derek needed to participate too.  We have accumulated many fairy wings over the years, so there was one that was the right size for him.   Of course we had to document his shame in purplish/pink fairy wings.  He loved the attention.

A soaring-through-the-air-fairy:

Wings didn't stop him from crawling at full speed:

Derek was more excited to be a fairy than the girls:

I was trying to get a picture of his vampire teeth, but I think our window is gone as his center front teeth are coming in quickly.

We wanted new fall pictures of the kids to put up in our foyer, and staged a couple photo shoots.  Unfortunately the girls are now too big to lift up into the air underneath pretty fall foliage (that is how we used to take our fall pictures).  We didn't want to drive anywhere to take the pictures, so we settled with some yellowish leaves as the background for Karina and Lydia.

Here are my favorite shots of the girls.

Lydia:

We tried multiple days to get good shots of Derek, but couldn't seem to find a picture we wanted an 8x10 of:

We liked how these last ones turned out more:

We've been dealing with illness in our house lately. Lydia was dealing with a cold, and then seemed to recover only to break out in hives all over her body. She had a fever and wouldn't eat or drink. The redness has faded and she is eating and drinking again, but now she has a nasty cough to deal with. Poor girl.
