Thanksgiving Visitors

Mimi and Mormor came to visit over Thanksgiving break.  The kids had a blast with them.

Derek caught on to the idea of climbing up Mimi's legs pretty quick.  He was practically doing flips.

Mimi's back probably hurt after all this.

Snoopy is super cuddly.

While Derek was playing by himself he made himself a nice tall lego tower.

We had more visitors for Thanksgiving: my mom's twin sister Tante Anne, Uncle Bjorn, my cousin Trond Erik and his wife Karina.  My Karina thought it was so cool to meet another Karina and they became differentiated as Big Karina and Little Karina.  Somehow we all fit at the dining table and we loved having the company!

Little Karina is not shy and ingratiated herself on our guests.

On Black Friday we headed to Washington DC to do a mini-tour of a few sites.  The White House, pictured below,  has had new fences installed recently and visitors can no longer get as close to the property as they used to.

The Capitol Building is more photogenic.  We also went into the Library of Congress and saw the Supreme Court building.

Here we all are at our front door, minus Uncle Bjorn taking the picture and Derek who ran off.

Tante Anne brought with her some costumes my mom made for my brothers 30 years ago.  They still looked good.

We also went to the National Aquarium one day with my parents.

Here we are watching a dolphin show, except everyone is so sensitive to animal cruelty claims, that it wasn't much of a show, just a slow paced 'training session' with the dolphins.  It makes me miss the shows of old at the Miami Seaquarium, which wouldn't be politically correct anymore.
