In July we flew to Oregon for a family reunion with Nate's family and to visit my brothers Thomas and Erik. It was great to spend time with all of them. We stayed at Thomas's house the weekend before. Oregon is hilly, and the walk around through his neighborhood and up a nearby hill was very pretty, and strenuous at times.
Here we are along the neighborhood walk/hike with Thomas:
Erik and Vanessa have three birds and Lydia is pet-obsessed and was VERY excited to see the cockatiels. Two of their birds are more nervous of strangers, but one was friendly to new people.
Lydia was thrilled to have her earring chewed on.
We walked around Portland with Thomas the next day.
On the drive down to the family reunion, we stopped at Multnomah Falls.
We hiked to the top, and despite the fairly strenuous hike, we were rewarded with beautiful views of the Columbia River and Washington on the other side.
After the reunion with Nate's family, we spent some more time with Thomas, Erik, and Vanessa before flying home. Here we are in a group picture with Erik, Vanessa, and Thomas. I only wish Derek had cooperated/smiled for the photo instead of being silly:
