Sleep Trouble

Karina has been a little nightmare the past couple days. She used to happily take daytime naps in her swing and would sleep in her crib at night. She would always sleep swaddled in her SwaddleMe blanket. Well, now she tries with all her strength to roll out of the swing. It's also hard to make her do tummy time anymore because she can roll onto her back at will. Anyway, her attempts to escape the swing make it a safety hazard, and so she can't nap there anymore, and she utterly refuses to nap in her crib. To make matters worse, she doesn't tolerate her swaddle anymore. We were really only planning on swaddling her for about 3 months, and she is nearly 5 months now, so getting rid of the swaddle is probably long overdue. Now we are left with a very cranky baby who is incredibly tired, but can't sleep. When she does sleep her arms wake her up because she isn't used to them being free. We are trying some new techniques to get some rest. The disclaimer on every sleep/nap method we've read about says that you need to try it for a few days before it will work. Hopefully by the end of the week, I will have gotten some measurable amount of sleep. I miss the days of a couple months ago when she would only wake up once in an 11 hour night to eat. I was up with her 5+ times last night.

We do have cute pictures of her though. Another shot of Daddy kissing her cheeks to squeals of delight.

In this picture we were trying to get her to ride Snoopy like a horse. She didn't like that, but Snoopy doesn't seem to mind.

It cooled down this week, and we finally got to put her in her cool weather dress. We think she is pretty.

I don't think Karina will start solids for another month, but we put her in her booster seat just to try it out.
