Lydia: Days 5-8

We are finally basically unpacked in our new house, and it feels good to not see boxes everywhere.  There is a lot more space than what our townhouse had, and there is plenty of space for all the stuff we will inevitably accumulate.   One of my next projects will be to decide where to hang things on the walls and figure out how to remove wallpaper borders.

Karina has been acting up with more tantrums than usual recently.  The pediatrician warned us that it would likely happen, including multiple wakings at night, and it has held true.  I'm sure it isn't easy for a two-year-old to adjust to both a new house, a new sister, and a completely new routine.  Hopefully she will adjust quickly.  A lot of the time, it feels like she is the difficult one and not our 8-day-old.  Guess that's why they are called the terrible twos.  Karina has been nothing but sweet to Lydia though, which is great.  She is always asking to see Lydia and to give her hugs and kisses.

Karina is a very loving big sister:

We went to Nate's annual work party at Patapsco State Park yesterday and Lydia of course got plenty of comments and admiration.  She slept through the entire party which Nate and I appreciated.  I think the comfy weather and breeze helped her nap last longer.

Karina had a blast playing with bubbles and then going down the slides and playing on the playground.

Lydia seems to like her bouncer and enjoys spending some of her wake time chilling out there.

Happy 8 days to our gorgeous little princess!
