Despite February temperatures frequently reaching 70 degrees, we received an unusual mid-March snow storm. It wasn't as bad as it could have been as it rained for several hours during the storm, instead of snowing. That made the snow very icy and heavy. This was our first real snow fall of the season, and Derek's first chance to really experience snow:
Nate continued his tradition of making a snowman with the kids - this time mostly with Lydia. Their two snowmen later received hats, scarves, carrot noses, etc.
Our real excitement was pulling out the sleds the kids got for Christmas and finally getting some use out of them.
Mormor announced that she is an 'expert sledder' and I think everyone thought she was just remembering her childhood fondly. Then she surprised us all by popping down on the sled and going down. I didn't think I would ever see her sled down a hill repeatedly. This hill on the side of our house wasn't very big though, and we found a better hill in the backyard the next morning.
Maybe next year we will be ready for a steep hill.

We had such a good time! Miss you all!
