Miami Part 5: The Beach

Karina's first trip to Miami wouldn't have been complete without a trip to the beach. We weren't sure how she would react to the cold water and sand - the ocean water was probably around 80 degrees, much colder than her nightly bath. We got her smothered in baby sunblock and in her cute little bathing suit, in hopes that she would think the beach was fun. First we took some cute pictures with her:



Then came time for Nate to dip her little feet in the water. For the first two seconds she was just thinking about the change and deciding what she thought about her feet in the sand and in the water.


Poor thing - she didn't like it even one bit. After a couple seconds of registering the change, she began to wail.


At least Snoopy enjoyed the beach.


Overall, I'm glad my mom got a few cute family photos of us. Karina will be able to say she went to the beach when she was 6 months.


After that particular beach, we headed to Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, which also has pretty beaches and fun walks. We didn't have too much time, but here are my mom, Karina, and me in front of an old light house. It is the oldest standing structure in Miami-Dade County, built in 1825.
