The other day, I was raking leaves in the front lawn with Karina napping in her car seat up the steps, by the front door. Snoopy was relaxing, laying down in the lawn as I raked. All of a sudden Karina woke up from her nap and started wailing. Immediately Snoopy bounded up the stairs to her, and approached and sniffed her, wagging his tail all the while, as if to say "It's ok, your Snoopy is here." It was so cute! I'm glad he is so sweet with her.

Another time, Karina was eating her oatmeal, and towards the end of her meal she was starting to get full and bored with it. As often happens she looked around, while on her booster seat, and saw Snoopy. She started reaching out for him, with her dirty, oatmeal fingers. Snoopy approached shyly, and sniffed her fingers. He looked over at me a couple of times as if to make sure it would be ok, then started licking Karina's fingers. Karina burst into giggles and was laughing hysterically. It must have felt funny to have Snoopy gently licking her and she loved it. The camera came out way too late, and we didn't capture the shot, but here is an after-picture of the two of them in action.

After having a hole in our dining room ceiling for nearly three months after Hurricane Irene, there was finally time for Nate to patch the drywall. He still isn't finished with the final touches of, it, but it is nice to not have a piece of cardboard covering the dumb hole.

All of the leaves on our maple tree are gone now, and we filled several garbage bags of leaves. Fall seems to be ending. To make it worse, there is hardly any sunlight during the day.

It has gotten cold in Maryland and preparing to go on Snoopy's walks has become a semi-production as we have to bundle Karina up. At least she gets the added body warmth of being up against whoever is carrying her in the Ergo. She looked kind of goofy this evening, so we decided to document it.

A smiling princess:

We don't have pictures of it, but Karina has gotten incredibly good at sitting up unassisted. She can sit up by herself on the floor for a good half hour and not fall over. She loves to sit on the floor and play with her toys. Tuesday is her 7 month birthday.
