Three Week Update

Our little angel had her 3 week birthday on Friday and is doing great. She sleeps very well at night comparatively, meaning she goes much longer between feedings at night than during the day, and right after eating she goes to sleep immediately. Her mommy appreciates this :-) We have been working on putting her on a schedule where during the day she eats every 2.5 to 3 hrs, with each 3 hr block including eating, then wake time, then nap time. So far it has made life much easier for me, especially with her eating less often.

Karina got her first bath this week. If you want to know if she enjoyed it or not, just take a look at this picture:

Here is our little burrito fast asleep. We bought this orange blanket before we knew if she would be a girl or boy. It has turned out to be the best blanket we have for swaddling (she can't escape the swaddle with this blanket) so we have since bought 2 more of the same blanket in girly pink.

Mommy and her pink burrito:

Whenever I wake her up from her nap to feed her, it takes about 5 minutes for her to actually wake up. She goes through a series of stretches and yawns that I think are adorable. Here are a few of her signature moves:

Do I really need to wake up?:

Daddy and Karina:

We're still not very good at burping her. We have read about several new (to us) techniques in books over the past few days and it has given moderate success. Karina tends to spit up a fair bit, so we are doing a lot of laundry.

At 23 days old, Karina is still wearing newborn diapers and size newborn clothes. I am excited for when she will fit into size 1 diapers and size 0-3 month clothing. Her clothes are fitting much tighter now though compared to even a week ago. In this pic the onesie almost looks too small for her. Maybe we will upgrade her to size 0 clothing sometime this week, depending on how much she weighs at her pediatrician appointment on Wednesday.

Enjoying some exciting wake time with Daddy reading her some nursery rhymes:
